How I Help

People decisions rarely start with a clearly defined problem. A role may have changed, responsibilities may have shifted, or you may simply know something isn’t working.

I help leaders understand what the business actually needs, surface what’s unclear, and turn that clarity into practical next steps.

How I Help.

Make a Better Hiring Decision

Clarify Responsibilities & Ownership

Clarify Responsibilities & Ownership

Get clear on the role and the person you need, then use a structured process to interview, evaluate, decide, and align expectations.

Sort through overlapping responsibilities, unclear decision-making, or work that has gradually landed in the wrong places.

Define or Redefine a Role

Clarify the work that needs to be done, what the role should own, where it fits, and what success should look like.

Evaluate the work that remains when someone leaves, roles are eliminated, or responsibilities need to shift—and determine what the business needs now.

What Working Together Looks Like

A structured conversation, not a canned solution.

First, we get clear on the decision.
We start with what’s happening now, what prompted the conversation, and what you’re trying to figure out. I ask questions designed to surface assumptions, competing expectations, and areas of misalignment.

Then, we work through what the business actually needs.
Together, we sort through the work, roles, responsibilities, priorities, and people involved so the decision is grounded in the needs of the business—not simply in how things have always been done.

Finally, we turn the clarity into something usable.
Depending on the situation, that may be a clearly defined role, better-aligned responsibilities, a structured hiring process, or practical next steps for moving forward.

When the Decision Is a Hire

Hiring brings its own set of decisions—from defining the role and identifying what the right candidate needs to bring, to evaluating candidates consistently and setting clear expectations with the person you hire.

The Hiring Clarity Method™ brings structure to the entire process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at jodi@prestonclarityadvisory.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Preston Clarity Advisory helps business owners and leaders bring structure to difficult people decisions. That may mean clarifying what a role actually needs, creating a more consistent hiring process, evaluating candidates against shared expectations, or making sure those expectations carry into the new hire’s first months.

Yes. Preston Clarity Advisory is based in the Las Vegas area and works with leaders and organizations nationwide. Engagements can be conducted virtually, including for Las Vegas-area clients, so location doesn’t need to determine how we work together.

Preston Clarity Advisory is built on more than 20 years of experience working with leaders, employees, and teams across people operations, hiring, onboarding, training, and organizational change. I’ve worked across multiple industries and with organizations ranging from small businesses to large companies, giving me experience with very different structures, resources, and ways of working.

I’ve helped define roles, structure hiring and onboarding processes, equip managers, and turn unclear or inconsistent practices into practical systems people can actually use. PCA brings that experience together in a structured approach for business owners and leaders who need clarity before making consequential people decisions.

No. Preston Clarity Advisory doesn’t recruit or source candidates. The work focuses on helping you get clear on what you need, how you’ll evaluate it, and how you’ll make the decision.

That’s often where clarity work is most useful. Before writing or revising a job description, we can work through what the business needs the role to accomplish, where responsibilities belong, and what success should look like.

Yes. The process can meet you where you are. Depending on how far you’ve progressed, we can identify where expectations are unclear and focus the work on the decisions still ahead.

Yes. The Hiring Clarity Method™ is PCA’s first structured service, but the broader focus of Preston Clarity Advisory is helping business owners and leaders bring clarity to complex people decisions. Future services may address other situations where roles, responsibilities, expectations, or organizational needs have become unclear.
